Job Description

The Sr. Financial Analyst - Commercial Finance will partner with the Southwest Region Commercial Team to drive profitable topline growth. Through accurate analyses and financial modeling, this role will provide insight into commercial activity to understand true revenue opportunities and profitability and identify ways to maximize topline performance. Additionally, the role will be responsible for producing volume reporting and analyses for the total region to include understanding trends against forecast assumptions and historical performance. This position assists with various recurring and non-recurring projects initiated by the Finance Manager and Director. The position will report into the Commercial Finance Manager and collaborate with various Corporate Finance groups


  • Builds financial models required for evaluating the profitability and revenue opportunity of new and prospective commercial opportunities
  • Conducts test mix/utilization and payor level analyses to provide insights into account level profitability
  • Responsible for managing the regional volume reporting tool to include forecasting volume along with providing insights into business and account level drivers
  • Communicates effectively with commercial business partners to ensure Physician Pricing is profitable and compliance thresholds are met
  • Serves as the regional point of contact for the commercial function in the Physician Account Management process to mediate accounts that are unprofitable and have fallen out of compliance
  • Partners with Revenue Recognition & Analytics and Commercial Finance & Analytics to ensure accurate topline reporting and to communicate regional insights from commercial activity
  • Partners with Billing to drive improvements in patient price concessions and bad debt
  • Conducts ad-hoc analyses and works cross-functionally on projects as needed

  • Bachelor's degree required (preferably in accounting or finance)
  • Minimum of three years relevant financial analysis experience
  • Strong financial modeling/analytic skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights
  • Ability to multitask successfully in a changing environment with competing tasks and priorities
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally in a matrix environment and build/maintain relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
