Pay Range: $131,000-$186,000

What You'll Do (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Facilitate the financial goals of the company by establishing and utilizing state-of-the-art procedures and programs to achieve favorable costs/pricing (competitive bidding, competitive sourcing, periodic reviews, evaluating special opportunities such as leveraging logistical advantages, minimum orders, power buying, etc.).
  • Enable Operations by ensuring the proper goods and services are available when needed with a service level above 99%.
  • Provide leadership on sourcing strategies and approach on key contracts, in particular leading negotiations and contract discussions.
  • Train and direct personnel; facilitating improvements in such areas as total cost evaluations, strategic supplier reviews, obsolete inventory disposition and item consolidation.
  • Analyze future market conditions and forecasts buying requirements, to include future buying or contract buying where it gives the company a competitive cost advantage.
  • Interact with Corporate personnel to improve overall communication and performance levels within the organization.
  • Fully leverage existing sourcing tools and systems as available
  • Make recommendations to senior reporting structure regarding systems such as MRP/ERP and upgrades when appropriate.
  • Develop measure and report performance metrics related to purchasing, strategic planning, and internal customer service.
  • Develop local supply chains that complement the corporate strategy of quality, customer service and speed to market at minimal inventory and overall cost.
  • Develop and support relationships with strategic suppliers within assigned regions to ensure quality consumer products are manufactured and delivered in time at the best possible cost.
  • Implement global sourcing policies where applicable, such as just-in-time supply and replenishment.
  • Coordinate with Legal, R&D and Product Development to capture ownership of Intellectual Properties and retain Tempur Sealy's ability to source new materials while limiting restrictions and constraints.
  • Participate with Engineering, Research &Development, Finance and Operations Management locally in areas such as Total Cost Analysis, implementation models and terms and conditions of purchase for key items.
  • Work cross functionally with corporate and regional Marketing, R&D, Product Development, Engineering, Strategic Managers and Manufacturing Operations to develop best practices and earlier involvement with the introduction of new raw materials and product lines.
  • Provide direction, development and leadership to employees.
  • Inspire, lead and mentor employees in local Sourcing team to achieve quantitative results.
  • Solicit and present thoughts and ideas from Suppliers to optimize programs.
  • Work cross functionally with internal customers to develop best practices, and early involvement within all projects.
  • Support Temper Sealy Rest Of World (ROW) Sourcing Projects team as appropriate.
  • Ensure company compliance with all agreements.
  • Represent Global Sourcing at internal/external meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need (Qualifications):

  • Four-year degree in Business, Procurement / Supply Chain, Engineering or related field preferred; 10 years of Supply Chain experience in a manufacturing or consumer goods industry.
  • 5 years of direct Sourcing Program Management or Category Management experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs is required (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Project etc.).
  • ISM or APICS certification is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is desirable.
