Overview

Element Fairfield has an opportunity for a Microbiology Lab Technician whose primary responsibility is to support laboratory operations by conducting the relevant laboratory requirements in support of our Life Sciences busines sector.

Element's Life Sciences group supports developers and manufacturers in the antimicrobial, food and nutraceutical, medical device, and pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. We provide personalized testing solutions and regulatory consulting support to validate the safety and efficacy of our clients' products at every stage of development, production and market release.

Responsibilities
    Maintain the good laboratory housekeeping and ensure Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standard are adhered
  • Provide essential microbiological analytical laboratory support for medical device manufacturers, private sectors, commodity exporters, and companies in line with Element's standards
  • Maintain accurate records of all performed procedures in assisting in implementation of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 in the laboratory
  • Assist in performing some analytical testing for the samples, recording and updating of results in LIMS
Skills / Qualifications
  • Graduation in microbiology / equivalent preferred but not required
  • Strong preference for 1-2 years of experience working in the Medical Device and/or Microbiological Testing industry
  • Strong preference for candidates with a background in Cytotoxicity, Endotoxin, and Bioburden testing, as well as Media Prep, Clean Room and Sterile Techniques.
  • Knowledge of testing and standards (USP, ISO, ANSI, or ASTM)
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-motivated team player with excellent organizational skills
