Job Description:
Baptist Health is looking for a Facility HIM Birth Registrar to join our team in Lexington, KY
Performs all tasks related to processing the appropriate paperwork for the Birth Certificate of all newborns utilizing the facility health information systems, KY-CHILD or DRIVE websites, various forms, and the facility birth certificate worksheets. Employee is able to perform all other duties as assigned. Must have strong customer service and communication skills. Functions in a technical role by ensuring and protecting patient privacy and security at all times. Promotes corporate integrity through compliance with the BHS Corporate Responsibility Program.
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required
High school degree required.
Certification as a Register Record Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Record Technician (RHIT) preferred.
Formal education in HIM will be considered in lieu of experience.
RHIA certification equates to 4 years of HIM work experience.
RHIT certification equates to 2 years of HIM work experience.
2 years minimum computer experience, with proficiency in data entry and basic MS Office applications including Word and Excel required.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology required.
Notary public/eligible to obtain as needed.
