AEI, an STV Company is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineering Specialist for our Water and Wastewater practice to be located in our Louisville, KY or Lexington, KY office. The successful candidate will support our current staff while assisting in growing the water/wastewater practice to better service our clients statewide.

Our engineers work on high quality, high-profile, national, and international projects. You will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out. Key Responsibilities:

  • Production of contract documents including plans and specifications

  • Perform engineering duties in planning and designing water and wastewater pipelines, pumping, storage, and treatment systems

  • Perform pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations as well as pump calculations and develop system curves for sizing pumps

  • Prepare construction and design cost estimates

  • Responsible for or willingness to learn project management, client interface and business development of future projects

  • Make site visits during design and construction to observe the construction installation

  • Review construction shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project design documents

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited University of NCEES equivalent. (Master's degree is preferred)

  • 2+ years (4+ preferred) of experience in the design and construction administration of water utility and wastewater utility infrastructure projects in a consulting environment.

  • EIT Certification required / will give preference to candidates who have taken and passed their PE exam

  • Experience or specific course work in water and wastewater systems is a plus

  • Ability to work and communicate well will other design disciplines.

  • Ability to work independently

  • Software knowledge: Microsoft Office

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit a plus

  • Proficiency in InfoWater, WaterGems, KYPIPE, InfoWorks a plus

  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.

  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

  • Desire, motivation and ability to exceed the firm's and clients' expectations

  • Dedication and willingness to continue professional growth

Compensation Range:

$57,639.00 - $76,852.00
