Position: Japanese Bilingual Interpreter
Contract Duration: 6-Months
Work Location: Berea, KY (Onsite)
Work Hours: Mon- Fri 9 am to 6 pm (Must be flexible for overtime during summer months, especially for meetings and special projects)

OVERVIEW:
A Japanese Manufacturing company in the automotive industry is seeking a skilled and dedicated Interpreter to support their executive team for a 6-month contract, starting in April 2024. As an Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication within their multinational workplace. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating verbal and written communication, ensuring accuracy and clarity in both English and Japanese languages.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:
* Act as the primary language support during meetings, discussions, and conferences involving the President.
* Provide interpretation to ensure the President's messages are accurately conveyed in both English and Japanese.
* Prepare briefing materials and summaries in the respective languages to aid effective communication.
* Collaborate closely with expatriate staff in production, maintenance, and quality assurance departments.
* Offer on-the-spot interpretation during daily operations, team meetings, and collaborative projects to enhance cross-functional communication.
* Facilitate cultural understanding and cohesion among the diverse expatriate and local team members.
* Translate technical documents, manuals, and specifications from Japanese into English, and vice versa.
* Ensure accurate and precise translation of technical terms to facilitate a comprehensive understanding for English-speaking team members.
* Collaborate with subject matter experts to clarify technical details and context when necessary.
* Other duties requested by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Proven experience as an Interpreter with a strong command of both English and Japanese languages.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical information accurately.
* Familiarity with technical terminology related to production, maintenance, and quality assurance processes.
* Cultural sensitivity and the ability to adapt communication styles for diverse audiences.
* Strong organizational skills to manage workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Availability to start in April and commit to a 6-month contract.
