This is a high-level senior position responsible for providing managerial, technical and design service aspects of municipal water/wastewater and industrial/construction projects. YOUR DAY-DAY WILL INCLUDE:

  • Individually contributes, formulates, and guides solutions to problems of exceptional difficulty and significant importance to the company. Generally recognized as an expert in the field. Provides technical, design and project management services in support of water and wastewater engineering design projects as part of a multi-discipline project team.
  • Develops new client relationships and maintains existing client relationships. Serves as key contact with major clients.
  • Supports business development efforts, leads the preparation of proposals, serves as lead presenter in presentations to secure new project work. Experienced in developing project scope of work, time, and staffing/fee estimates. Responsible for developing a substantial amount of new business with current and new clients.
  • Capable of conducting critical negotiations and handling controversial issues. Exercises skill in persuading and negotiating or critical issues. Demonstrates good judgment in handling and solving complex technical and people assignments.
  • Extensive knowledge of standard practices within appropriate discipline including design and construction. Individually able to carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development and implementation of new or improved techniques or procedures.
  • Able to successfully lead and supervise a project team on projects of all sizes and levels of complexity. Follws through to completion on all aspects of the project, which includes client meetings, project team communication, monitoring budget and progress and A/R collections.
  • Active in professional organizations, professional development and mentoring of staff. Maintains a network of relationships within the field.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering with Florida Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to acquire FL Professional Engineer (PE) quickly within 6-12 months of hire through reciprocity.
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in the design of water/wastewater projects.
  • Preferred technical experience includes routing of piping within a project, plans, profiles, cross-sections, elevations, structure sections, construction details, references, and perspective drawings. Candidates with prior experience in support of water and wastewater treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection/pumping, and/or reuse water distribution projects will be favored.
  • Experience in acquiring permits from review agencies on a local, state, and federal level, including direct coordination and communication with such agencies is required.
  • Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software including ICPR, Hydraflow, StormCAD, EPANET, SWMM, Bentley, Innovyze, and/or similar products is required.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
  • Must have good presentation, technical writing, and public speaking skills with experience in major business development efforts.
  • Must have good leadership, team building and communication abilities.
  • Must demonstrate an excellent understanding of all aspects of the consulting business, including project proposal, budgeting, and financial management efforts.
  • Requires a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
  • Requires clean background check to allow access to sensitive sites.
