Job Description:
Phlebotomist
Collects blood specimens (both venous and capillary) from adult and pediatric patients. Delivers clinical specimens to the laboratory in a timely manner to ensure efficient, accurate laboratory testing and patient care. Prompt specimen registration, and the courteous interaction with house staff, other departments and services are also duties of this position. Performance of non-Dot drug screens, breathylyzer testing, and blood alcohol collections. Additional responsibilities include answering phones, processing specimens for reference lab testing, receiving, filing and delivering of lab reports and as assigned. Work as necessary to meet staffing needs and fulfill the mission, vision, and values of the hospital.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and
Licensures/Certifications/Registrations Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Phlebotomy experience preferred.
