First Shift: 8a-5:30p

Job Description:

The clinical staff pharmacist is responsible for provision of distributive, clinical and educational pharmacy functions. In accordance with state and federal laws that govern pharmacy practice, the clinical staff pharmacist strives to maintain a complete and current command of dynamic pharmaceutical and health sciences, to provide pharmaceutical care throughout the hospital.

  • Provision of distributive, clinical and educational pharmacy functions.
  • Provides pharmacy services within the pharmaceutical care model of practice; providing safe, appropriate, efficacious, and cost-effective drug therapy for achieving definite outcomes that improve a patient's quality of life.
  • Interacts and participates as part of the multi-disciplinary health care team that designs, implements, and monitors patient care plans.
  • Serves as an educator to patients, their families, and other health professionals. The clinical staff pharmacist serves as a leader, educator and role model for pharmacy students and interns. The clinical staff pharmacist serves as supervisor for pharmacy technicians and clerk.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with Pharmacy degree.
  • Licensed Pharmacist with the Kentucky State Board of Pharmacy in good standing.
  • Pharm.D. or relevant clinical hospital pharmacy experience is desirable.
