Sterile Processing Manager-RN-Full-Time

  • Job Summary: The Manager of sterile processing is responsible for planning, directing, and coordination of all activities relating to the reprocessing of reusable instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.
  • Responsible for the initial orientation and training of newly hired sterile processing department (SPD) staff.
  • Provides for the continuing education (in-service) for staff.
  • Ensures the provision of patient care.
  • Possesses the demonstrated ability to function in a staff role when necessary.
  • Functions as a mentor/preceptor as needed.
  • Establishes and utilizes mechanisms for continuous quality improvement.
  • Promotes hospital mission, vision, and values of the organizationand adheres to specific hospital policy and procedures.
  • I. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred.
  • Current RN licensure in Kentucky.
  • One - Three years perioperative experience, OR preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Certification from IAHCSMM as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) preferred or obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Certification for SPD Manager or Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) within 2 years of hire.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel)
