Kenneth "Cat Daddy" Pogson was born and raised in Memphis, TN. He has been working in the hospitality industry since the 6th grade, where he started his first job at a local movie theater. He enrolled into a Hotel/Restaurant program at State Tech in Memphis and eventually moved to Portland , OR and received a BA in English at Portland State University. Kenneth spent a decade working in the hotel industries of the Imperial Hotel, The Heathman Hotel and Atwaters. In his spare time he became one of the original announcers of Roller Derby, the host of Portland Organic Wrestling and the host of numerous game shows.

After years of working in the entertainment/restaurant industries, Kenneth teamed up with long time friend Tres Shannon to make his entrepreneurial dream come true. Kenneth & Tres have always wanted to start a business together. A business that would fit into an extraordinary Portland business climate, something fun, different, and one for the ages. They both came to the realization that, to that day, there were no known doughnut shops in downtown Portland. After much business planning, networking and scrounging, Voodoo Doughnut was born.

Within 1 month of opening its doors, they received their first national press. Since then, Voodoo Doughnut has been on The Travel Channel, The Tonight Show, Wheel of Fortune, The Cooking Channel, MTV, GRIMM, Leverage, Portlandia, The Amazing Race, Good Morning America, The Today Show, Access Hollywood and countless other programs. Voodoo Doughnut has been covered in everything from People Magazine, Playboy, Conde Nast, SPIN, G.Q, Jane, Maxim, Saveur, Destinations Weddings & Honeymoons and Food & Wine.

Voodoo Doughnut celebrated its 10th year of business back in May. Both Cat Daddy and Tres Enjoy life to its fullest. World Doughnut Domination!
