Position Summary

Under general supervision, but in compliance with established policies and procedures, provides a comprehensive member experience by working with members, primarily over the phone to review their overall financial situation and make product or service recommendations. Employees in this position will actively cross sell Credit Union products and services through specific marketing and sales campaigns by making outbound calls, and receiving inbound calls to and from Credit Union members. This position also includes participation in semester projects to explore other career opportunities within the Credit Union.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Campus 2 Career Intern

  • Assists members with a friendly, professional manner and support the Credit Union's mission statement
  • Contact new and existing members via outbound calls about products and services that are identified through specific marketing and sales campaigns to deepen member relationships
  • Follows established procedures to properly verify members' identities over the phone
  • Assists with membership requests and explain options such as types of accounts and services offered
  • Answers questions, concerns, and problem solve for members concerning Credit Union services through listening, collecting data, researching, securing answers, and reporting results to the inquiring party
  • Offers superior member service to include cross-selling Credit Union products and services
  • Uses member service skills and good judgment to effectively and independently resolve problems and manage complaints
  • Responsible for understanding the products and services offered by the Credit Union
  • Utilizes knowledge, judgment, and Credit Union procedures to protect members and the Credit Union from loss
  • Actively participates in Credit Union initiatives and promotions and achieve assigned goals
  • Staffs events on campus and in the community representing the Credit Union to promote MSUFCU products and services, as required
  • Coordinates special projects and programs to ensure success of the program
  • Manages time efficiently and take initiative within the department; seek opportunity to develop or enhance knowledge
  • Actively participates in training activities within the department and with the Learning and Talent Development Department to ensure compliance with Credit Union policies and state and federal regulations and laws
  • Follows safety and security procedures regarding emergency situations, third party access to secure areas, and communicate suspicious activity to management
  • Performs other duties and assist others, as assigned

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to utilize office equipment including work at a computer, interact with others, and move about the department
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Requires occasional night and weekend events and activities
  • Requires onsite work
  • Normal office environment where there is minimal discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise and other factors
  • Exposure to potentially hazardous condition, i.e. robbery. Receives detailed instructions and procedures to be followed to minimize the exposure
